If you live in and around the Erie Pennsylvania area you may have noticed lately that a lot of sports fans have been quick to change the subject when you talk to them about anything other than sports. That’s because tomorrow (Saturday May 7th) their hometown Boxing Promoter Ernie Bizzarro will be doing something that he has never done before;  he will be hosting “BayFront Brawl,” his first ever MMA Cage Fighting event at the Bayfront Convention Center in downtown Erie, Pa.  This is big news to lots of sports fans throughout the region because the name Bizzarro is synonymous with boxing.

After retiring from boxing, Ernie Bizzarro became a boxing promoter and turned Bizzarro Boxing Promotions into one of the most popular boxing productions in the region.  Bizzarro Boxing Promotions quickly became one of the top rank boxing events in the region drawing huge crowds. And if you know anything about Ernie Bizzarro you know that when he decides to promote an event you can count on it being one that you don’t want to miss.

Ernie Bizzarro will be promoting his first MMA Cage Fighting event tomorrow, but you can be sure that he didn’t just decide to do this without thinking about what he needed to do to get the attention of the huge MMA fan base located throughout the region. He knew that he needed the kinds of MMA fighter matchups that would create a “can’t wait to see” attitude.  And for that he turned to the legendary MMA matchmaker Nichole Castillo.

With Castillo’s help Bayfront Brawl quickly became a MMA event that has Erie Pa and the surround area buzzing with anticipation.

For the main event it will be Branden “Soku” Seyler from McCain, Pa who will be stepping into the cage and putting his pro record of 5-3-1 on the line against Dillard “Joe” Pegg fighting out of Amelia, Oh.  Pegg who holds a pro record of 6-3 will be looking to stop Seyler and recover from a loss he suffered 9 months ago at hands of Cory Alexander.

For the co-main event it will be 20 year old Damonte Robinson who will be making his MMA pro debut against Mike Wiseman.  Robinson began his MMA career 14 months ago.  He has fought 5 times and has never lost.  Wiseman will be coming in with a combined pro/am record of 8-4. He will be looking to get his name back in the win column after losing his last two fights in a row.

Among the amateur matchups will be Dustin Mohedano vs Anthony Romero fighting for the Bizzarro Promotions “Bayfront Brawl” 155 lbs division title.  A piece of history will also be made when 40 year old Shari Davidson steps into the cage to take on Gina Tallarico.  Davidson will be the first ever 40 year old female to make a MMA debut in the State of Pa.

Bizzarro Promotions “Bayfront Brawl” will also be kicking off this event by featuring several up and coming local MMA fighters and fighters from around the region.
