Crowtown Throwdown 3 was held in Coshocton, Ohio over the weekend, and a dozen bouts were part of the amateur event. Of those bouts, only the main event – a welterweight title fight – went all three scheduled rounds.
In that fight, Andrew Law (8-3) earned the welterweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Shawn Carter (5-2). Law won for the second time in three outings, while saw his two-fight winning streak snapped.
In the co-main event, New York’s Dustin Whalen (4-1) picked up a second round TKO victory over Wayne Lauvray (6-5). The victory got Whalen back on track, as he lost for the first time in his career in his last outing against Edwin Taylor.
Both Doug Miller (4-2) and Travis Soto (8-3) improved their records with submission victories, while Jesse Maloy (4-2) earned a TKO. Rob Van Sickle (2-0) stayed perfect with a 55-second victory via rear naked choke, and Collin Toney (2-0) and Drew Reichelderfer (2-0) both picked up their second career victories as well.
