It has been a rough few months for middleweight Travis “The Terror” Clark (6-1).

First, he was upset by Hector Urbina and lost his NAAFS middleweight title along with his undefeated record at “Caged Fury 17″ in April. Then he accepted a bout against Kevin Zalac (3-2) as part of next week’s Bellator 71 undercard in West Virginia, but he has decided to pull out of the bout, citing difficulties with the health of his mother. Clark posted a message on his Facebook page announcing the decision to pull out of the bout.

Sources close to the event have indicated that West Virginia native Chris Goldbaugh (3-1) could take the bout against Zalac, although the bout was not included as part of an official press release from the promotion earlier today.

Bellator 71 takes place on June 22 at the Mountaineer Casino in Chester, West Virginia. The main card airs live on MTV 2, while the preliminary card will be shown on Spike.com.

Bellator 71 features the beginning of the 2012 “Summer Series,” and will include the quarterfinals of a light heavyweight title contender’s tournament. In more light heavyweight action, “Big” John Hawk (7-4, 2-1 BFC) will tangle with Tim Carpenter (8-1, 3-1 BFC) for an alternate spot in the “Summer Series” tournament.

Undefeated middleweight Jason Butcher (3-0, 0-0 BFC) will make his Bellator debut, as the Jorge Gurgel product will clash with Duane Bastress (5-1, 2-0 BFC).
