Spartan Fighting Championships will return tomorrow night, as SFC 14 is set to take place in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Headlining the event will be a professional lightweight title bout featuring Cincinnati’s Chris Bennett (6-3) against Strikeforce veteran JP Felty (2-3). Both fighters will come in looking to rebound from losses in their last outings, and it will also be the first appearance of the year for each.
Bennett, who has claimed all six of his victories via submission, returns from neck surgery after sustaining an injury in training last year. Both of Felty’s wins have also come via submission.
Also set for the event is the professional debut of top-ranked amateur bantamweight Ronnie Jordan (0-0, 8-2 am), as the Cincinnati native is set to take on Jason Carrier (2-8).
In amateur action, lightweight champion Ohio’s Ben Cook (8-0) will defend his title against Mark Jones (4-2). It could be the last amateur outing for Cook, who has submitted his last three opponents.
This event will be streamed for free on GoFightLive, a first for the company that has provided the Internet pay-per-views in the past.
“Being able to do the pay-per-views is a great accomplishment for any smaller promotion, but to be able to offer it to any fan with an internet connection is nothing short of amazing,” said SFC producer Alex Hackney. “If you’re not in Mt. Sterling, or the surrounding 40 miles, you’ll be able to watch this show with all the fights for absolutely free. We’re able to do this because Jeff and his crew at Tri-State K9 Service believe in the Spartan brand and streaming online as a method for delivery.”
