Apparently flying knees and nine-second knockouts don’t go unnoticed.

Dan “Dragon” Spohn (6-0, 1-0 BFC) is on the verge of signing a multi-fight contract with Bellator on the heels of knocking out Dane Bonningson in just nine seconds at Bellator 51. A source close to the situation confirmed the deal with GatewayMMA.com.

Spohn, the current NAAFS light heavyweight champion, has gone undefeated in six bouts since turning pro just under two years ago. The 26-year-old has recently taken on the challenge of becoming a full-time fighter, and he splits his time at Buckeye MMA in Columbus and the Jorge Gurgel Academy in West Chester when preparing for fights.

No word has been rumored on when Spohn will next compete for Bellator or who his opponent will be, but he could be a favorite to enter an upcoming light heavyweight tournament for a chance to fight for the Bellator 205-pound title.
